Questions still remain around why some leaders who are clearly intelligent and experienced are not always successful in dealing with environmental demands and life in general. This paper presents the findings of a recent study that investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence (MSCEIT V2), personality (16PF5), cognitive intelligence (WASI) and objective measures of leadership effectiveness in senior executives (N = 120) within a large public service organisation.
Delegates who attend this presentation will learn the latest research on the relationship between EI and leadership effectiveness, how to apply EI to the use of identify leadership potential, particularly in regards to the creation of internal talent pools.
