Session Information: A Vision For An Emotionally Intelligent Education.
Key Concepts:Participants will learn to apply the model to solve problems and address situations having high emotional content. Participants will be introduced to the emotional literacy curriculum |
With the implementation of No Child Left Behind educators must focus on teaching the whole child in an emotionally sound learning environment that challenges each student to become self-sufficient, cooperative, responsible and contributing members of a global society and encourages each to achieve his/her highest potential. Our vision of a sustainable world includes teacher training on the Mayer/Salovey/Caruso ability based model and the implementation of the Brackett/Maurer/Plain Emotional Literacy curriculum in order to provide all stakeholders with the strategies and skills necessary for our children to become self-reliant, educated and socially responsible individuals.
As a result of participating in our workshop, participants will:
- understand the impact of emotionally intelligent leadership in education
- understand how emotions impact a person's performance
- understand the advantage of gauging their own levels of Emotional Intelligence
- gain insight and guidance related to Emotional Intelligence
- understand the use of the EI blueprint to solve problems and make decisions
- learn about an exciting new curriculum that creates emotionally literate students and that promotes academic achievement
