Session Information: Implementing large-scale Ei programmes in a variety of contexts (corporate, healthcare, educational)
Key Concepts:How to win stakeholder commitment for major emotional intelligence interventions aimed at developing leaders and key skills. |
This session will provide a practitioners’ perspective on efforts to bring emotional intelligence into corporate, healthcare and educational contexts. The session poses three important question for practitioners in the pursuit of emotional intelligence being used to create a sustainable world:
1. What can be learned from implementation of large-scale projects that can be of benefit to educators, practitioners, internal change agents and consultants? 2. Are lessons transferable to other contexts easily? 3. What are the ‘enablers’ and ‘brakes’ within emotional intelligence interventions?
During this session, participants will:
- Be able to list the components of a major emotional intelligence intervention.
- State how each component was translated into practical terms.
- Validate what works and what was more challenging in the implementation phase of such a project.
- Feel inspired to want to go out a replicate a similar scale project.
Using this knowledge when participants return to their usual work context, they will be more able to:
- Identify situations and contexts close to home where emotional intelligence interventions may be needed.
- Influence positively a funding decision or sponsorship for such an initiative through an articulation of clear benefits.
