SIGs

Participate in a Special Interest Group by creating a free account in our forums.

To request a new SIG, read this page, then contact:

The EQAlliance operates through "Special Interest Groups," (SIGs) online and real-world forums where people committed to emotional intelligence can dialogue and collaborate. Anyone can propose a new SIG, and if 15 or more people want to join, we will create one. A SIG can be about a topic, tool, specific need, or practice; SIGs can be ongoing or short-term.

Each SIG has the following charge:

  1. Each SIG has an online forum so the dialogue is captured in an accessible archive.
  2. The person who requests the SIG will be the interim moderator.
  3. The group identifies a tangible outcome and due date. Examples of outcomes are research summaries, case studies, practice aides, recommendations to consumers, letter-writing campaigns, or curricula.
  4. Members meet in the online forum and/or in person at least twice a month and contribute ideas to advance the discussion.
  5. As the discussion advances, new moderators and informal leaders may emerge.
  6. The moderators synthesize the discussion into the selected outcome.
  7. SIG members share or present their work at a NexusEQ Conference.

When the EQAlliance membership is large enough, we will begin to form groups in locations around the world for those who can meet in person.
