The EQAlliance operates through "Special Interest Groups," (SIGs) online and real-world forums where people committed to emotional intelligence can dialogue and collaborate. Anyone can propose a new SIG, and if 15 or more people want to join, we will create one. A SIG can be about a topic, tool, specific need, or practice; SIGs can be ongoing or short-term.
Each SIG has the following charge:
- Each SIG has an online forum so the dialogue is captured in an accessible archive.
- The person who requests the SIG will be the interim moderator.
- The group identifies a tangible outcome and due date. Examples of outcomes are research summaries, case studies, practice aides, recommendations to consumers, letter-writing campaigns, or curricula.
- Members meet in the online forum and/or in person at least twice a month and contribute ideas to advance the discussion.
- As the discussion advances, new moderators and informal leaders may emerge.
- The moderators synthesize the discussion into the selected outcome.
- SIG members share or present their work at a NexusEQ Conference.
When the EQAlliance membership is large enough, we will begin to form groups in locations around the world for those who can meet in person.
