Barbara Porro, M.A.

Barbara Porro is a dynamic and entertaining staff developer of national reputation. During the past decade she has conducted conflict resolution workshops for thousands of educators throughout the country. The Talk It Out model she developed is based on 14 years of elementary teaching experience. Her practical, teacher-friendly approach focuses on turning “tattled tales” into natural opportunities for children to practice problem solving.

Barbara holds two master’s degrees in education (University of Florida & Stanford University) and is the author of Talk it Out: Conflict Resolution in the Elementary Classroom, published by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

She lives with her husband and 7 year-old daughter in Redwood City. In addition to parenting and working as an independent consultant, Barbara is currently writing a book to help teachers develop the social and emotional intelligence of primary-aged children.
