Dr. Penn has received numerous honors and awards and has served in several gubernatorial appointments, his latest being on the board of visitors for James Madison University where he served as Vice Rector. |

Dr. Penn is now employed as an educational consultant with the Moseley, Harris and McClintock Architectural Firm; He is an adjunct professor at Virginia State University; He serves as a member of the National Resource Network to assist the Delta Project in serving nation-wide communities in the area of educational reform; He also temporarily served as the Project Director of the federally funded Project Success for Sussex, Charles City and King and Queen school divisions. Dr. Penn has served the field of education well; his contributions include service on many panels and committees for the state department of education and various colleges and universities. He most recently served on the special committee to determine the benchmark scores for the new requirements approved by the state board of education. He is well known throughout the country as the expert in Rural School Administration. Dr. Clarence P. Penn, better known as C.P., is a native of Pulaski, VA and was educated from elementary through high school in the Pulaski and Montgomery County School systems. He received his bachelors degree in English from Bluefield State College and his Masters degree in History and Administration from Radford College. He received his doctorate from the University of Virginia in Educational Administration in 1985. |
